This site was created as a members-only community for bikini lovers and where girls all around the world can share their bikini pictures, and subscribers could pay to see these images.
As it’s a social platform, the girls interact with the community, take part in bikini competitions and get “tips” (vouchers for bikinis) or presents from the other users. The site was extremely popular, however, the design, functionality and business model used were all outdated. So my task was to come up with a new fresh, clean design that improved all of these issues. The redesign also had to include new social features, showcase the images in a better way and improve the general UX.
One of the biggest challenges we faced was that the website had existed for many years, meaning there was an enormous amount of images. In an attempt to improve website performance, hosting had been spread across multiple servers, however this also proved troublesome as the site still crashed and load time was very slow.
And given that Microminimus shared servers with Wicked Weasel, a website that was in the top 300 in the world for daily views, we needed to consider alternative solutions and ensure the design was fully optimised.
